Tire/Wheel Combo Needed that is Rated for 3,500 lbs and Compatible with Dexter # 35545E-ST-89
Question:
I want to complete a home built trailer, to replace one that was destroyed in a hosue fire. I have settled on your DexterTrailer Axle item # 35545E-ST-89, picking out the springs etc is easy. I want the smallest tire that I can get on it that will be close to carrying a 3500 pound load. 13 inch rim but what tire do you suggest. If I carry a 3500 pound load it is for less then 15 miles, I carry a load of bricks from the store to my house but I am on the freeway some of the time. The farthest I ever went with my old trailer was 200 miles and then I had a 500 pound load. I pull it with an F350 with electrical brake capability.

I do have a solution for you, however, the smallest tire we have on a 13" wheel is part # AM31985 which has a load range of 1,610 lbs at 65 psi meaning it won't be strong enough for the 3,500 lb axle.
The best option that you have is the Provider ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # TA82MR which comes with a 14" wheel that is compatible with the Dexter Trailer Axle # 35545E-ST-EZ-89 that you referenced. This tire/wheel combo has a load range of 1,760 lbs at 50 psi which means 2 of them will be rated for slightly over 3,500 lbs. This also comes with a max speed rating of 81 mph and a 2-year limited warranty.
You can check on compatibility with your trailer by comparing the 7.99" section width and 26.14" overall diameter with the place that the tire will be sitting.
Please note that the axle # 35545E-ST-89 you are interested in has an 89" hub-face and a 74" spring-center measurement. These need to match with your old axle to confirm that this will fit your application.
