Recommended Electric Tongue Jack for a 6,000 Lb Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a TT that weighs 5709 lbs. with a hitch weight of 620 lbs., currently I have a manual Tongue jack that I would like to replace with an electric tongue jack. What size of Electric Tongue jack do I need?

A trailer jack only needs to be rated for the tongue weight of the trailer when used in this location (on the tongue). However, it is always a good idea to choose a jack that is overrated for your needs as this will create less stress on the jack which will in turn improve it's life. For your trailer with a hitch weight of 620 lbs, I recommend the Stromberg Carlson Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack part # JET-2500 which is rated for use on trailers with a tongue weight up to 2,500 lbs and will be more than enough for your needs.

The Stromberg Carlson jack is water resistant, has LED lights for use at night, and has a manual crank option if you lose power. It also comes with a 2 year warranty. I have attached a review video of this jack for you as well. If you would like a cover for this jack while not in use then you can use part # JET-01 to further protect the internal components.
