Trailer Wiring Kit For Safe Operation and Warranty on a Honda Ridgeline

To answer your question, there is a federal law that says that the vehicle manufacturer must provide warranty repair on the vehicle as long as the aftermarket device is not the actual cause of the malfunction or breakdown. In that case you would be responsible for any repair.
That being said, I have never ran into a situation where trailer wiring caused a customer to be declined for warranty service. Most car dealers will service the vehicle under warranty no matter the cause of the malfunction, because they want their customers to continue business with them.
We have not had any complaints about this harness. The only problems we run into is when there is a short on a trailer, the converter will short out and stop working. This design protects the vehicles sensitive circuitry and wiring.
If you would like a trailer wiring harness that has the ultimate protection for your vehicle wiring and sensitive circuitry, you could use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT. This trailer wiring harness installs without splicing into your vehicle wiring and draws power for the trailer lights from the vehicle battery. It only uses the vehicle circuits for signals to tell the converter which function has been activated. If there is a short on the trailer side of the module the converter will lock out but can be reset by removing the inline fuse in the power wire and correcting the short circuit situation, then reinstalling the fuse. Links to instructions and a installation video are provided for you to review.
