For your 2003 Chevy Tahoe, you will need the Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connector, # 30955. I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation for you.
If the trailer has a 7-Way connector, it probably has electric brakes. If you do not already have one, I recommend a brake controller. The most popular controller and wiring harness for your Tahoe is the Tekonsha P2, # 90885 and wiring harness # 3015-P.
I have included a link to the installation details for the brake controller. The wiring harness plugs in under the dash, in an electrical junction box with a black cover on it. The box is located on the far left side near where the firewall meets the floor. The harness plugs in on the top row, second spot from the left.
To make the brake controller and 7-Way fully functional, there may be additional connections you will need to make under the hood. I have included a link to an FAQ article that should help.
