Troubleshooting Wiring Harness 118760 Installation in 2018 Honda Pilot
Question:
I have a 2018 Honda Pilot. Installed the Tekonsha 118679 per the video. Trailer lights don’t work. I could not remove the bottom cargo hook because the philips head is too tight and it’s now stripped. So I had to pry the top portion and was Able to connect the harness but removing it will be almost impossible. So before I try to remove what should I try.

I am sorry your installation of wiring harness # 118760 in your 2018 Honda Pilot was a challenge, and also that it is not functioning.
The first thing to check before you un-install the harness is that the ground ring terminal is tightly affixed to a clean metal surface. A good ground is essential for any wiring harness to function. You might even sand off that point to expose bare metal which will give you the best connection.
The other thing to check is the installation of the included fuse which goes into the engine compartment.
Just to make sure your trailer lights themselves are working properly you can use the car's battery or a spare to directly apply +12V and ground connections to the trailer's own plug. Direct battery power applied to the trailer plug contacts should activate the lights. Connect battery ground to the covered ground pin; then connect battery positive to each of the other pins one at a time to see if the light function.
