Can Stay-In-Play DUO Braking System Be Removed and Installed on Different Vehicle?
Question:
I like the SMI brake system, but an RV service rep told me that once your unit is installed it cant be removed to use if we get a different car or RV. Is this true?

The RV service rep was not speaking the truth. The SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 can be removed and installed on another vehicle. You simply need to remove the parts from the vacuum lines and replace with couplers and hose. Other than that, you just remove the parts and reinstall them on your new vehicle.
The rep was probably trying to lead you towards another very good and viable option like the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR which makes switching your vehicle extremely easy. The only down side to an option like this is the short installation time each time you tow. They even have a 2nd vehicle breakaway kit # BRK2505 for easy installation on 2nd vehicle.
