Reese Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation for 2-1/2 inch Hitch

Question:

I have a truck with a 2 1/2inch receiver rated at 18,000# my old weight distribution hitch Reese is rated at 14000# my trailer is about 9,000#. My question, is there a 2 1/2 inch shank that I could use with my current weight distribution system? I know I can use the 2 1/2 inch - 2inch adapter sleeve

Reese makes shanks that will fit a 2-1/2 inch hitch like you have and will work with their weight distribution systems. So all you'd have to do is swap out your current shank for a shank like the # RP54977 and you'd be set.
