Comparing Curt 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver to Draw-Tite 2 Inch Receiver for 2018 VW Atlas

Question:

Thanks! But I still can’t compare the two hitches directly - in the X direction per my picture. On the Draw Tite you reference backward from the mounting hole, and on a the Curt you reference forward from the bumper. Can you make them from the same reference point? Thanks for the drop comparison- those are from same reference.

For your 2018 VW Atlas, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13366 will be about 1-1/2 inches recessed behind your bumper and will drop 8.44 inches from the mount to the bottom of the receiver tube according to my tech contact at Curt.

The Draw-Tite # 76176 will have the receiver tube extend about 6-1/2 inches from the rear mounting hole and will drop 8.8 inches from the mount to the bottom of the receiver tube according to my tech contract at Draw-Tite.

For your trailer wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118754 confirmed to fit your vehicle and then the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS10048B and locking pin # e98882.

Since we cannot give you the hitch receiver to bumper measurement yet. I measured the Curt hitch to give you the same reference. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13366 measures 7-1/4 inches from the end of the receiver tube to the center of the rear-most mounting hole. So the Curt receiver will extend 3/4 inches further than the Draw-Tite # 76176 toward the outermost edge of the bumper but both will remain recessed.
