Comparison of Yakima MegaWarrior Roof Cargo Basket # Y07080 and Thule M.O.A.B. # TH690
Question:
Between Yakima Megawarrior and Thule MOAB, which roof basket is less expensive to mount? Which comes complete / requires the least amount of accessories to mount? Also, which holds th most weight? I am wanting a roof basket for taking 2 complete spare tires, gas cans, and water cans on long drives across Alaska from Fairbanks.

Both the Yakima MegaWarrior Roof Cargo Basket # Y07080, and the Thule M.O.A.B Roof Cargo Carrier # TH690, include the hardware needed to mount to crossbars. Your vehicle would need to have a roof rack with crossbars to mount either cargo basket.
Both carriers come complete, but the Yakima MegaWarrior has a few add-ons, that you may find useful, such as the Spare Tire Carrier, part # Y07076. There is also the Light Mounting Bracket, part # Y07075, the Hi-Lift Jack Mount, part # Y07077, and Shovel Mount, part # Y07078.
The MegaWarrior has a weight capacity of 130 lbs, while the Thule M.O.A.B. has a weight capacity of 165 lbs. However, the amount of weigh you can carry will depend on the weight capacity of your roof rack and vehicles roof load carrying capacity. Whichever has the lowest weight capacity, whether the cargo basket, roof rack or vehicle roof, is the limit as to how much weight you can carry. Note, that the weight of the cargo basket must also be calculated as weight you will be carrying.
The MegaWarrior is slightly larger than the M.O.A.B. The MegaWarrior measures 52 inches long x 48 inches wide x 6-1/2 inches tall. The M.O.A.B. measures 44 inches x 39 inches x 6-1/2 inches.
I have linked a video review of the Yakima MegaWarrior Roof Cargo Basket # Y07080, and the Thule M.O.A.B Roof Cargo Carrier # TH690.
If you do not have a roof rack on your vehicle, send me the year, make, model of your vehicle and I will be glad to recommend a roof rack for you.
