Demco Hijacker Autoslide Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ram 1500 5.5 foot Bed

Question:

Seems like this sliding hitch would work well for my 2017 Ram1500 with a 57inch bed. Planning for now to use it with a Sportsman 231RK trailer which has a an UVW of less than 6,000 lbs and a dry hitch weight of less than 900 lbs. Is that consistent with your experience?? Also, all the information I saw indicated an above bed mounting system. Is this particular hitch available for under bed installation??

For a truck with a 5-1/2 foot long bed the Demco Hijacker Autoslide hitch part # DM8550040 that you referenced would be perfect. Unlike most slider hitches this one slides 22-1/2 inches which would be enough to allow your truck to make a tight turn.

For a set of above bed rails confirmed to fit your 2016 Ram 1500 we have the Reese kit part # RP50142-58 that would be your best option. These rails are custom fit to your truck bed which means they will install in much less time than a universal kit and will minimize drilling.
