Will a Proportional Brake Controller Keep Constant Brake Pressure with Brake Pedal Applied
Question:
Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller . When stopped on a hill, with your vehicle brake on, are the trailer brakes activated? If not are there any controllers that set the trailer brakes while stopped? Thank you

With proportional controllers like the Tekonsha Voyager part # 39510 the controller will return to a minimum braking power if the brakes have been applied for an extended amount of time. Also, once the controller no longer senses deceleration it will stop sending the max amount of brake power to the trailer axle.
That's the nature of proportional brake controllers. They try to match the same amount of braking action that the tow vehicle is applying. If you were in an emergency situation or parked on a very steep hill you could grab the override lever of the controller to hold it there. But typically the truck brakes are more than enough to keep the rig from moving.
