Roof Rack and Folding Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2008 Chrysler Aspen

Question:

Looking for a replacement 2 kayak roof system including cross bars for our Chrysler Aspen. We currently have a 4 yr old generic possibly TMS? roof systemfixed J-style. A couple of the J-rack have bent and the cross bars locking mechanism is unreliable. We want to upgrade the quality of the current system, possibly adding a folding J-stylewithout breaking the bank. Weve bought from e-trailer before and appreciated your past input. Do you have suggestions for us on this current purchase?

The Yakima JayLow part # Y04073 would be a great option for a kayak carrier that is high quality and can fold down when not needed like you said you were intersted in. Then for a quality roof rack that doesn't cost as much as some of the high end racks we have the Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA126B-2 and # RRSX100 which is a confirmed fit. I really like the Rhino Rack roof racks as they are on par with the other brand manufacturers yet don't cost quite as much.
