Weight Distribution Alternatives for a 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan

Question:

I have a VW Toureg towing an 19 ft Flying cloud. Easy Peasy. The Toaureg owners manual specifically states NOT to use a weight distribution system when towing. Of course my, full of advice friends, do recommend it. My car seems pretty level to me, although I have not checked the headlights at night. Your opinion?

Expert Reply:

I do have options for you but if the owner's manual for your 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan states not to use a weight distribution system then we cannot recommend against this. If you would like a bit more support and stability then I recommend using the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4176 which actually installs inside the coil springs and can be adjusted for optimum performance.

If you're experiencing sway then I recommend using the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control - 1 to 4 Axles # 335TSC-1000 to automatically activate the brakes to cut out sway.
