Recommendation For Hitch For 2012 Land Rover LR2
Question:
I couldn't tell from the photos if the hitch 119179 was installed without any issues with the plastic bumper cutting or rubbing. One person commented that he used a shim? Which is better hitch/fit Draw Tite or Curt? Approximately how long does it take to install the electrical kit? Does the kit just accept the 4 prong connector?

For a great fit for your 2012 Land Rover LR2, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Round Tube Receiver Hitch, Item # 75688. It does not require drilling and bolts onto your frame. For trailer wiring, I recommend the Kit, Item # C59496, which is confirmed as a fit. If you need a bracket for the hitch wiring, I recommend Item # 18144.
If you need a hitch ball mount and hitch balls for towing a trailer, I recommend the Etrailer ball mount kit, Item # 989900. It includes 2 ball mounts, 2 hitch balls (1-7/8 inch and 2 inch), 2 hitch pins and clips, and a great storage bag.
If you need a hitch receiver lock, I recommend going with something like the etrailer.com hitch lock, Item # e98880.
How much time it takes to install the wiring harness depends on how mechanically inclined you are. A shim should not be needed and the instructions will walk you through a step-by-step installation.
I have also attached some articles and videos to help you with your installation.
