Recommended Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2017 Ford F-350 with Factory Rail Kit
Question:
Hello. We are in the process of replacing our Travel Trailer with our 1st 5th wheel. I am leaning towards a companion slider. I have a 2017 F350 4X4 SWD SB with a OEM 5th wheel prep package. The truck also has a sprayed bed liner. The 5th wheel GVWR = 12700 lbs, hitch weight = 2045 lbs. What would be the proper hitch for us? Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w Slider # BWRVK3370 that you are considering is actually the exact hitch I recommend for your Ford F-350. The B&W Companion hitches are widely considered to be one of the best units on the market because of their reliability and durable construction.
This particular hitch is designed to mount directly to the factory pucks on your Ford's truck bed and will provide you with 12 inches of front to back travel for the necessary cab clearance during sharp turns. It features a 20,000 pound towing capacity, which gives you a generous safety margin with your current 12,700 pound trailer, and enough wiggle room to allow for a heavier trailer if you were to ever head in that direction down the line. The 1 inch thick dual jaw will also provide an excellent connection with the trailer.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this hitch so you can get a closer look at all of its features, along with the written installation instructions that you can check out.
