The A-iPower 5,000-Watt Portable Generator, Item # 289-AP5000, is designed to power appliances and tools like air compressors, air conditioners, electric heaters, etc. To choose the right generator, you must match the size of the generator (starting output and running output in watts) with the electrical demands of the appliances or equipment you will be operating. The A-iPower Generator has a starting (surge) power output of 5,000 watts and a running (rated) power output of 4,000 watts so as long as you land below these power outputs, you should be fine.

For example, if you have an AC unit that is rated for 8,000 BTU and draws up to 1,800 watts when starting and 1,200 when running then the A-iPower 5,000-Watt Portable Generator would easily handle it.

I have attached a video with more information to assist you.
