Recommendation For Adjustable And Easy To Use Fifth-Wheel-To-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter
Question:
I would like to know if this product is a bolt on adapter or if it can be easily removed and put on a different trailer. I tow many different styles of trailers and do not want to have to have a fifth wheel plate on the flat deck of my truck. I am looking for an adapter that I can install and remove in a short amount of time without drilling or welding .

Based on your information, I recommend the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, Item # AM3100. It fits a standard 2-5/16 inch gooseneck hitch ball and can be installed in about an hour. It works with standard or extended pin boxes but an extended pin box can be no longer than 24 inches. It is not recommended for cushioned or air ride pin boxes.
The Ranch Hitch universal adapter is rated for up to 24,000-lbs towing capacity and up to 6,000-lbs of tongue weight capacity. It has a vertical adjustment range of 3 inches: 11-3/4-inches when collapsed to 14-3/4 inches when extended. It is fitted with a remote release cable so that you do not have to climb in and out of your truck bed to lock the coupler. All the required hardware for the bolt-on installation is included.
For proper functioning, you need to measure your truck and trailer for the adapter. Measure from the pin plate down to the top of the ball in your truck bed. The measurement should fall between 11-3/4 inches (when the adapter is collapsed) to 14-3/4 inches (when the adapter is extended). The adapter also needs 5 to 6 inches of clearance from the trailer overhang to the truck siderails.
We also offer a slide hammer to ease installation of the inner threaded collar around the trailer king pin, Item # AM3103. Safety chains are also available, Item # AM3109.
I have attached additional information and videos to assist you.
