Troubleshooting Voyager Brake Controller Not Working in 1999 Toyota 4Runner
Question:
I wired everything on a 2000 GMC Sierra Z71 and it has the blue wire already connected as well as the red wire for 12v hot. I connected the wiring harness to the relay box and to the voyager brake controller bit have no status light. Black wire is hot and red has power when brake peddle is pressed and white is grounded. Doesn't work in my 99 4runner when wired up correctly.

The first thing I would check is the ground wires. You have probably done this, but I would make sure your ground is securely attached to clean area. After that, make sure the power is firmly connected and working in both vehicles using a circuit tester like Item # PTW2993. Next, I would check for loose or pinched wires.
Next, I would make sure your Voyager Brake Controller, Item # 39510, is mounted in your cab at a vertical angle that is between -20 degrees and +70 degrees. Proper leveling of the internal sensor is crucial to the brake controller operating correctly (instructions attached).
If your brake controller is still not working after these steps, contact us and we will look at other options.
