Solutions To Allow 2013 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 ft Bed Tow 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I bought a 1984 Holiday Rambler 24 ft fifth wheel. It has a short pin box. I know I need to extend it for my short box F-150. I have a five and a half foot bed on my 2013 F-150 and Im wondering if I need a Sidewinder or just an extended pin box. And there are no markings on this pin box that I can find I plan to look again when I get home is there any way to find out what part was put on this trailer? Thank you

You'd have two options. One of them would be the Sidewinder like you mentioned or a slider hitch with a much larger slide range.
Since you mentioned Sidewinder we can start with that. If you can't find out what model you have you can take a few measurements and you'll know which pin box you have and will be able to pick out the correct Sidewinder. Check out the help article I attached below that shows what measurements to take.
The Demco Hijacker 13k part # DM8550040 is the only slider hitch that will work to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a truck that has a 5-1/2 foot bed since it slides 22.5 inches. To install it in the bed of your 2013 Ford F-150 will require a custom install rail kit like the part # RP50081-58 which fits your truck and the Demco hitch.
