We can help you assemble the various items needed to safely and legally flat tow your 2017 Ram 1500 behind your Class A motorhome.
These items include base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, a wiring or lighting kit of some type, a supplemental braking system and usually also a high/low hitch adapter (to keep the tow bar level) and a wiring extension kit. I linked several pertinent articles, both on flat towing in general and on several of these specific components.
Starting with base plates I suggest the Blue Ox kit # BLU74FR if you have the Rebel, Big Horn, Laramie or Laramie Longhorn. All base plate fits are linked for your reference. With it you can use the Blue Ox Alpha tow bar # BX7380 which includes safety cables. For the braking system the SMI Air Force One # SM99243 is a great choice if you prefer a one-time set-up. If you want an easier and portable option then instead consider the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This is the way to go if there is any chance of a new toad vehicle in the near future. Your choice of Roadmaster diode kit # RM-15247 is fine. I suggest Battery Charge Line kit # RM-156-75.
Finally you will want a high/low hitch adapter to keep the tow bar level, which will make it less likely to bind up on you. It can be no more than 3-inches above or below dead-level at either end. Our page for high/low adapters is linked.
