For your application I recommend going with a Rhino-Rack ROC 25 Roof Rack. If you only plan on using the roof rack for your 2014 Ford F-150 Platinum SuperCrew Cab to carry your fishing rod tube then the best looking option is part # RR89YR which is Black.

I like these roof rack choices because they have a very clean OEM look. Instead of having the crossbars mounted on top of the legs they are connected to the legs directly.

Since adding a roof rack to your vehicle opens up more cargo carrying possibilities you may want to install the system that the bars install on the top of the legs. This would consist of the Vortex Aero Bars, part # RRVA150S-2 for Silver or part # RRVA150B-2 for Black, the 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA, and the DK Fit Kit # DK150.

The only reason that these are better for different applications is because there is much more space on the crossbar.
