Does Demco Hijacker Autoslide for 2010 Chevy Silverado Have to Use Demco Fifth Wheel Rails
Question:
Is there a reason the Demco Auto Sliding Hitch DM8550034 has to use installation rails DM8552013-71 or Can the Curt installation rails C16400-204 or Reese RP56007-53 be used? What is the big difference between the rail systems that justifies an almost $200.00 in price difference? When the video and instructions state that the Demco Auto Sliding Hitch can be used with multiple rail systems. The truck Im looking to install this onto is a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ with Trailer/Tow Package, Z71 Off Road package with 18 inch wheels 6.2 engine with 6 speed trans. and 4.10 rear end. I am looking to purchase the 5th wheel hitch and Im about 95 sure I will be purchasing it here. Im looking for an auto sliding hitch, least amount of guessing in cornering and traffic is always best. Thanks for any info you can supply

The Demco Hijacker AutoSlide part # DM8550034 is designed to fit above bed fift wheel rails so you can use it with Reese or Curt rails that fit your 2010 Chevy Silverado. You could use the Reese Inboard rails part # RP50064-58 or the outboard rails # RP56007-53 that you mentioned as well.
The outboard rails are a bit larger and more expensive but are easier to install whereas the inboard are smaller but are a bit harder to install.
All the rail kits are about the same in quality. Some brands just happen to cost more.
