Mounting Kit # TH04997 for a 1995 Thule Weekender Cargo Box on a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer
Question:
We purchased a newer car that has a factory installed roof rack including crossbars. I would like to use my existing older Thule box purchased in 95 on the factory installed roof rack by my current u-bolts are not wide enough. Is there a replacement u-bolt kit that I can use? The vehicle is a 02 Mercury Mountaineer. Or do I have to purchase new Thule footings? Thanks!

I spoke with my contact at Thule and she recommended that you get a Thule QM3 Quick On-Off Mounting Hardware Kit # TH04997 to allow you to install your Thule Weekender Cargo Box that you purchased in 1995 on your 2002 Mercury Mountaineer.
