How to Tow a Trailer with a 2014 Mazda CX-5
Question:
2014 Mazda CX-5, regular non LED rear lights. Need entire trailer setup, decided to go with 2inch receiver for versatility. Right now I like the Curt C13315, with the Curt C56011 for wiring. Do you agree or have any additional input? Id like your recommendation for the hitch mount Ill be using a 2inch ball for my 5X8 2000 lb GVW trailer.

For your 2014 Mazda CX-5, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13315 is an excellent option. It is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver tube opening. The hitch offers a complete bolt-on installation that will not require any cutting or drilling. Then for a wiring harness, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56011 is a confirmed fit and will work well for you. It also offers an easy installation which is plug and play. I have attached an install video of both the hitch and harness on similar CX-5's for you as well.
In order to choose the correct ball mount for your CX-5 you would want to measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver tube opening and from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on your trailer while level. The difference between the two measurements will give you the correct amount of rise/drop you will need to look for in a ball mount. I have attached a help article that will walk you through this process as well as a list of our 2" ball mounts.
