How to Mount Malone Cargo12 Rooftop Box to 2017 Mazda 3 with 28 Inch Crossbar Spread

Im interested to find out how I should go about attaching a Malone MPG901 cargo box to a fixed point crossbar on a 2017 Mazda 3. The installation directions indicate that the brackets that attach to the crossbar should face each other however, my 28inch spread wont allow that to happen. Ive watched your installation videos on installing this cargo box on fixed point crossbars and it doesnt seem to mount on mine. Might you have a suggestion on how I could likely accomplish this task? Thank you for any help which you may be able to provide!

The Malone Cargo12 Rooftop Cargo Box # MPG901 referenced in your question features four rows with 8 holes each on the bottom tray of the box. It sounds like you may simply need to attach the mounting brackets using a different set of holes, as these holes allow adjustability between various crossbar spreads. Since you have the maximum crossbar spread of 28 inches, you will likely be using the outermost holes on the bottom of the box to attach the brackets.

As you mentioned, you will want the brackets for each crossbar to face each other.
