What Colors Should Lights on Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller be When Leveling?
Question:
Hello, Im installing the Tekonsha Voyager brake control on my 2008 Suburban recently installed same on my 1998 Sierra and when leveling control the dim orange light will stay dim orange after brake pedal is released. Light will not turn back to green. If I back off the level switch to turn light green again and use slider it will go from green to red and back. I havent moved the trailer hooked up yet, will that make differance? On my Sierra the lights will change without moving the trailer.

When you are leveling the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 the trailer needs to be connected but it does not need to be moving. If you are not getting the light to turn back to green the likely reason is that you have not leveled it properly. As you can see by the section of the installation instructions I've added, if the light is orange that means there is current flowing through them, which should not be the case after you have properly leveled the controller. I recommend ensuring you are on a level surface, that your connectors are secure and free of any type of dirt or corrosion and then adjusting your leveling again. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to take a look at as well should you need a copy.
