For your 1989 GMC Suburban 1500 with the 5.7L V8 engine, I recommend using the Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Sandwich Adapter part # D15602. This kit comes with several different thread adapters but you will need to use the one with a blue paint marking as this is the correct 13/16-16 adapter for you Suburban.
The above engine oil cooler kit can cool your vehicle's engine oil up to 50%. The cooler engine oil will prolong the life of your engine in addition to improving performance. The kit comes with everything you will need for installation and is made right here in the U.S.A.
