Recommended Trailer Brake Controller Harness for 2008 Toyota Tundra and Curt Brake Controller

Question:

I have a Toyota tundra 2008. Need to hook up brake control harness. I have a trailer brake jumper harness wire connection with 5 wires that came with the original truck. I dont know how to install to a Curt Venturer control,because it has 4 wire. Any suggestions . Thanks

For your 2008 Toyota Tundra, I recommend you swap out your 5 wire harness for the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers # C51362. This will allow you to simply plug in your Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller # C74VV.

Your other option is to hardwire your controller. The Curt controller has the standard wiring of blue (brake controller output), black (power in), red (brake light switch cold side connection), and white (ground). You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to determine the 5 wire functions of your current jumper harness and match functions.
