Frame Bracket Orientation For the Reese Under-Bed Rail Kit # RP30868 on a 2011 Chevy 3500HD
Question:
2011 Chevy 3500HD - Long Bed The frame bracket for the 30868 rail kit have an angled side indicating a left and right. How do you know which is left and right? Thanks.

I spoke with my contact at Reese and he informed me that you will need to put the rails on the frame of your vehicle to determine which side is right and which side is left. The side brackets should be orientated so the angled edge is parallel to the top of the truck frame. (The larger slots will be on top).
If you set the rails on the frame and you notice that the angled edge of the bracket is not parallel to the top of the truck frame, you know that you have the rails on backwards and you will need to reverse them. Most likely the frame of your 2011 Chevy 3500HD has a bend in it, and the differing angles of the brackets reflect that.
Basically, if you set the rails on the frame and the they do not sit squarely, you have them on backwards.
