Adding a 7-Way and Redarc Brake Controller to a 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser with 4-Way Flat Connector
Question:
2012 FJ Cruiser. Has a 4 flat connection on it. Want to tow small camper 3500# GW with brakes. Need 7-way. If I order Redarc tow-pro Elite controller #331-EBRH-ACCV2 like the idea of small profile visible when installed in any location and Universal installation kit ETBC7, do I still need kit 331-CBK30-EB? That’s the Redarc 30amp circuit breaker kit?

Expert Reply:
Since you will be using the 4- and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7 to add a 7-Way to your 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser you will not need to get circuit breaker kit # 331-CBK30-EB. The ETBC7 kit comes with a 30 amp circuit breaker, wiring, and other accessories.
Since your FJ already has a 4-Way flat connector you will just need # ETBC7 and the brake controller # RED44FR. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you.
