How to Adjust B and W Companion Hitch in Truck Bed with Spray In Liner that Fits too Tight
Question:
I have a 2017 Ford F-350 8ft bed 4x4 with factory spray in bed liner. I also installed the BandW turnover ball. When installing the hitch to the turnover ball, I cannot engage the pin. I noticed that the hitch needed to at least a 1/2” or so to get the pin engaged. So as a test move, I removed the plastic foot pads. Then reinstalled the hitch. Now I can engage the pin. The socketbpost for the companion hitch has no vertical adjustment. What am I missing? Thanks.

Sounds like the spray in bed liner has added a bit of height to the truck bed floor and the hitch doesn't want to release now. You can adjust the height of the latch handle which will change the tension.
If you check out the picture I attached you can see the section of the install instructions that covers how to do this.
