Replacing OEM Subaru Hitch on 2016 Outback for Compatibility with Thule T2 Pro xtr Bike Rack
Question:
I am looking to replace my OEM hitch on my 2016 Outback, as I need 2 inch for my Thule T2 Classic bike rack. Which I believe this will work? I noticed that Subaru discards the metal bumper beam when installing the factory hitch, as they say the hitch offers the protection. Will I need to purchase another bumper beam for this product, or will it be OK/safe to install without? The OEM hitch is very similar in installation and also a hidden hitch. Thanks!

The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 306-X7601 will install in the same location as your OEM hitch, but if you don't have the bolt on bumper beam I do recommend adding it but you will need to confirm with Subaru if it is necessary or not. This will give you the 2 inch hitch receiver compatible with your Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH69XT you were wanting. This is a confirmed fit that will work perfectly for this application.
