Availability of Hitch Extender that Can Give 24 inches to Clear Tailgate When Towing Trailer

Question:

I tow a 24foot featherlite camper and need an 18inch to 24inch extendor to accommodate an ATV rack that sits in my bed and extends 24inch over the tailgate. The trailer weighs approximately 4,000 lbs. What is the best option? Cheaper is obviously better, but not balanced against the cost of hitch failure or safety or the future possibility of needing to tow more.

We have a Curt hitch extension part # C45048 which can be cut down to 24 inches like you'd need. But you'd need to have a 2-1/2 inch hitch installed on your vehicle.

It looks like you have a 2008 Ford F-250 or 350 so if that were the case you'd need the part # C15810 for a hitch that's a fit for the vehicle and compatible with the extension.
