Where to Attach Red Wire from Prodigy P3 When Installing on a 2015 Chevy Equinox
Question:
Hello - i have the Order # ********* so i have the kit 4 way to 7 way. I have all of it wired up to the battery. The controller is where im stuck at. Where do i connect the red wire to? See the attached picture. Is there a connector that i should have purchased or is there a wire further back that i can tap into. I have seen other reviews about the 2012 equinox where you explained the other location. 2015 Equinox - base model. I will keep looking through your reviews but have stopped my installation until you reply. Dont want to cut or do something that will cost me. I hope you had a great new years.

Thank you for all of the details! Sounds like you have everything installed and ready to go for using your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 with your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox except for the Red wire. Typically this is connected to the Stop Light Switch which only gets power when the brake pedal is pressed, but for the Equinox, as you have discovered, it will need to be installed a little differently.
I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha who said that you will need to gain access to your Body Control Module (BCM) to install the Red wire from the P3. The BCM is located just above the left knee when sitting in the driver seat of your Equinox. To access it you will need to take the panel off that is under your steering column.
The BCM has 7 connectors that you will see. You will need to locate the Black connector. Just above it is a White Wire which is Terminal 11. This will have power when the brake pedal is pressed and the ignition is on so it is where you want to connect the Red wire form the P3 to.
