How to Select Replacement Hub for Trailer

Question:

Hello, I have a NuWay trailer kit NW13848G, original manual, accessory / parts booklets. Need a NW28000H complete hub kit. Can you provide? Can I view on your web site? Thanks.

We carry many replacement trailer hubs in various bolt patterns and weight ratings. Our main page for idler hubs (for a trailer without brakes) and hub/drums (for trailers with brakes) is linked. Selecting a replacement hub requires matching up a few things: the axle weight capacity, wheel bolt pattern and bearing set used inside the hubs.

I could not find the axle weight rating for the Nuway trailer model NW13848G so you'll want to check the axle itself for a sticker with its weight rating, or you can use the trailer GVWR to help you determine the required weight rating for a new hub. Each hub of course has to handle half of the axle's own weight rating. For example, a 3500-lb-rated axle needs two hubs each capable of handling 1750-lbs, like part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K.

You will want to confirm which wheel bolt pattern you need; the linked article will help you identify this hub feature.

Finally you need to get the bearing part numbers from the original hub. The new hub has to use the same bearings in order to fit properly on your existing spindles. You can refer to the linked photo that shows you the typical placement and appearance of bearing numbers.

Once you know these three things you can simply click on the filters on the linked page to narrow the results shown to just those hubs with the correct attributes.
