Best Fifth Wheel Towing Solution Recommendation for 2017 Ford F-350 with B and W Gooseneck Hitch
Question:
Hello I have a 2017 ford f350 shortbed with bandw turn over ball we just purchased a 2011 sabre fifthwheel camper that is already set up for the bandw goose neck ball. And people been telling us that this kind of setup is putting to much stress on the camper. Plus a little more turning space between cab and rv would be nice. Thank you for your time and any information you have

Sounds like you have a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter installed on your trailer like the Convert A Ball # CAB-C5G. While these adapters typically work great for people (we've yet to hear of an issue), the trailer manufacturers don't like these adapters at all and will say they put undue stress on the trailer frame therefore voiding the warranty.
Since you have a short bed truck and a B and W Turnoverball gooseneck your best option is to take off the adapter leaving you with a standard pin box and then install the B and W Companion Slider hitch part # BWRVK3400 in the bed of your truck. The hitch fits right into the gooseneck ball hole on your hitch. This will give you the extra turning clearance as this hitch slides back when needed to give more truck cab clearance when at parking lot speeds. The Companion hitches are widely considered the nicest you can buy so this is a great option that I know you'll be happy with.
