Replacement Keys for Fastway Trailer Hitch Lock
Question:
A few years ago, I bought the set of locks that included a lock for the hitch receiver bar, and a matching but smaller lock for the hitch release pin. But they both had barrel lockswhereas it looks like the newer ones have only a flat key. Whats up? I was going to buy a spare set, but I want the same type not that I expect the keys to match but a barrel lock seems to be a bit more secure than a flat key.

It sounds like you are referring to the Fastway Trailer Hitch Lock and Adjustment Pin Lock Set # FA86-00-3660. The included keys in this hitch lock are indeed a tube/barrel style key that offers better security than standard key mechanisms. This particular locking set is designed for the Fastway Flash E Series ball mounts like # FA42-00-2600.
We do have replacement keys available, if you are just looking for a spare set. You will want to locate the key number for your existing unit. For example, if you have the # 5511 key, you will just need # DTKEYR5511 for a replacement. I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of replacement barrel/tube keys for the Fastway Locks that you can look through.
If you are referring to a different trailer hitch locking set, please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
