Bike Rack and Trailer Hitch for 2012 Ford Focus
Question:
Hi, I have a 2012 focus hatchback. I am considering C11158 and would like to know if the Yakima HoldUp 2 Item # Y02445 will fit on the car.

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C11158 is a Class I hitch, like each of the hitch options for your 2012 Ford Focus. While there are high-quality bike racks that will work for you, the Yamaha HoldUp # Y02445 is only compatible with Class II hitches so it would not be a fit.
A premium rack similar to the HoldUp that I highly recommend checking out is the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # SH12G. The Sherpa is a hitch-mounted, 2-bike rack with a weight capacity of 40 lbs per bike that uses ratcheting hooks and wheel cradles to hold your bikes. It puts a premium on simplicity in a number of ways.
The Sherpa installs in your 1-1/4 inch hitch by simply turning a knob that tightens the rack in the hitch and also has a handy foot lever on the front so you can tilt the rack down as well as fold it up more easily than racks that require using a pin for those features. It also comes with a hitch lock to secure the rack to your Focus and a cable lock to secure your bikes to the rack, ensuring your investment is protected.
The Sherpa is also available in a number of colors for you to choose from: Gray # SH12G, Black # SH12B and Pearl # SH12P. I've added links to video reviews of this rack for you to take a look at as well as a link to our selection of racks that will work for your Class I hitch.
