How to Mount Accessories in the Curt Front Mount Hitch # 31198 on a 2011 Toyota Tundra
Question:
This is easy to mount. The hitch is too far in from the bumper. How can this tube be lengthened only a few inches

Expert Reply:
If the receiver tube is recessed too far on your 2011 Toyota Tundra for your accessories, a hitch extender, see link, can be used if you stay within 50 percent of the weight capacity of the hitch and the vehicle frame capacity for the front mount hitch. Extenders reduce the capacity of the lowest rated item by 50 percent because of the extra torque that can be applied by the longer shank in the hitch.
If you need to purchase accessories, your best bet is to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the farthest forward part of the front of the vehicle and then make sure the items you need have a hitch pin hole to closest part of the accessory measurement slightly longer.
