For your 2006 Toyota Tundra, I highly recommend the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002. This is a really nice backup camera that will allow you to clearly see objects behind you as you drive in reverse. It features a 3.5 inch color monitor and color-coded fields to indicate distance of objects. Since you do not have a trailer hitch installed, you can just set the camera to Everyday Mode, which provides easy-to-follow visual cues.
The camera can be connected directly to an existing 7-Way but can also be easily installed on vehicles without a connector. For your Tundra that does not have a 7-way, you will just cut/remove the OEM plug from the camera and splice the red wire to the reverse light wire on your vehicle. I have attached the installation instructions so you can get a better idea as to how this will install. You will just follow the instructions with the heading "For Vehicles WITHOUT OEM connector".
I have attached a short video demonstration on this system that you can also check out.
