Fitting Malone AirFlow 2's to a 2013 BMW X5 With Raised Roof Rails
Question:
Can I trim the length of the crossbar on the product below if necessary? Will the end caps plug back in if a couple inches were trimmed? Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack - Aero Crossbars - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Aluminum - 58inch Long

I have a possible solution for you, but the Malone AirFlow2 58 Inch, part # MPG216 would be adversely affected by trimming the roof rails. Additionally, there is a good chance the endcaps will not fit on the bar after they are trimmed.
Instead, I recommend looking at the 50 inch version of the AirFlow 2, part # MPG215. I took a measurement and the spread between bases is 44 inches at their maximum spread. This could be a fit for your vehicle if the raised rails on your vehicle are 44 inches apart center to center. Otherwise, I'd recommend just sticking to the stock length of the 58 inch AirFlow 2's.
