Recommended Scissor Jacks for 1974 Travco Motorhome
Question:
Need to know the correct size scissor type leveling jack for a 1974 Travco Motorhome. This coach is built on a Dodge M500 chassis. Not sure whether I need 24 inch or 30 inch capacity jacks. Please advise, Thanks,

Certain trailer items like scissor jacks are not trailer/motorhome-specific. In order to choose scissor jacks that will work well on your 1974 Travco Motorhome, you will just want to make sure you choose a set with the needed weight capacity, along with the proper jack height. You will want to make sure you don't lose any ground clearance by selecting a jack that extends further down when retracted. I recommend noting the weight capacity on your existing jack along with its height in order to choose a comparable replacement.
I recommend looking at the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jacks # UF48-979002. These 2 jacks have a combined support capacity of 13,000 pounds (6,500 pounds each), a collapsed height of 4-3/4 inches and a total lift of 24 inches. They can be installed to your trailer as either a bolt-on or weld-on application and the E-Z crank handle for operation is included.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can look at. I have also included a link that will take you to our available selection of scissor jacks that you can look through.
