Trailer Hitch With Higher Tongue Weight Capacity for 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe
Question:
I have a 7 seat Sante Fe 2017 V6. If I remove the rear seats - will that improve the hitch weight of the vehicle?

Expert Reply:
If you took out the rear seats (or any weight behind the rear axle) of your 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe you'd end up with a lighter weight on the rear suspension. That doesn't necessarily mean you get to take the removed weight and add it as additional tongue weight though.
The trailer hitch we offer Curt part # C13152 for your vehicle has a tongue weight capacity of 900 lbs. This would be a great option for a higher capacity hitch, but you have to be sure not to exceed the capacity of your vehicle that listed in the owners manual.
