How Much Space Should There be Between Truck Bed Rails and Trailer?

I have a 2015 Silverado 2500 hd with a Reese 16k hitch How much space should be between bed rails and trailer. My camper is high on hitch end and putting all the weight on rear axle

There should be a minimum of 6 inches between your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500's bed rails and the overhang of your trailer. Fifth wheel hitches are height adjustable, and typically pin boxes have different installation bolt holes that can be used to adjust for height. There generally isn't a large difference between the amount of vertical adjustment between fifth wheel hitches; for example, among the 16K fifth wheels we offer, the lowest setting would be the with the Curt # C16120 sitting at a possible 13 inches and while the lowest setting of the B&W Patriot # BWRVK3200 is 16 inches.
