On your 2008 Dodge Nitro, the reverse light function you want to tap into is at the tail light on either side. You will want to find the reverse bulb location and there will be a positive and negative wire coming out of the bulb housing. You will want to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to determine which one gives you power when your vehicle is shifted into reverse. The wire that gives you the light on your circuit tester is the one you want to use for the power on your Peak Performance backup camera.
If you don't wish to use a circuit tester, you can do a trial and error test by simply splicing the two wires and loosely twisting the camera wires to hold them in place. The camera will only function when power and ground are correct. Once you have determined function, then you can use the quick splice connectors or butt connectors to finish the installation.
