I do have an option for you but we no longer carry 10 x 1-3/4" brake assemblies. I recommend upgrading to 10 x 2-1/4" brakes as this is the more common size for 3,500 lb axles and will provide greater stopping power. For a set of 10 x 2-1/4" brakes, I recommend taking a look at the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA. These brakes are self-adjusting and use a 4 bolt brake mounting flange which is what should be equipped on your AL-KO axles. If you have a different brake mounting flange please let me know what that is and I would be able to recommend a set that will fit if available.

Since you will be changing the size of your brakes, you will also need new hub/drum assemblies. Most 3,500 lb AL-KO axles use an L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) inner bearing and a L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) outer bearing. If this is the case then you can use the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-545-35-K which have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and will work well with the 10 x 2-1/4" brakes. In order to determine if these hubs/drums will work for you, you will need to measure both the bolt pattern on your wheels and the inner and outer bearings on your current hubs. I have attached two help articles that will walk you through each process.

I have also attached a review video of the brakes and hubs for you.

Thank you Jason for your helpful comment.Looks like I have 2 options here:Option 1: -just change the brake shoes to 1-1/2 one wheel bp04-065 rated 2.8k. Existing assembly and drum will fit no problem since existing shoe is 1-3/4? Option 2: swap to different size brake assembly 2-1/4 and drum. Part listed above. Will this fit with existing spindle from this al-co axle with mentioned info above.

No problem at all. The 1-1/2" Brake Shoes # BP04-065 probably won't work on your existing brake assemblies, and even if they do they will likely lead to much weaker braking. The best option is definitely to replace the hub/drums and brake assemblies with # AKHD-545-35-K and # AKEBRK-35-SA. This will also make replacement parts much easier to come by down the line. They will indeed fit your AL-KO axle.

Hi,I have a 2014 Coachman 17BH clipper RV trailer.I have ruined both of the electric brakes on both side because the emergency cable plug wasnt plugged in during my first towing newbie mistake. As mentioned by others, i also cannot find a brake assembly to replace these 10 x 1-3/4 or 1-7/8? pad size. Existing hub assembly is 5 bolts pattern.I want to swap to 10 x 2-1/4 common pad size will these parts work?:Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA 10 x 2-1/4Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-545-35-KWill the existing Axle fit the above mentioned parts? heres the axle info from sticker attached to axle:AL-KO KOBER, LLC ELKHARTwork order 0594880 due 02/19/13number: 00030 of 56T35AD 76/57 BM 545 ULE W/SW4BPN40272/AD Thanks

On your 2014 Coachman Clipper, the 3500 lb axle will allow you to use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA which will work with the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-K you referenced. We don't have the 1-3/4 or 1-7/8 inch brake shoes. The closest we have is the 10" x 1-1/2" Electric Brake Shoe/Lining (One Wheel) # bp04-065 which is normally on 2.8K Dexter axles.
