Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a 17,000 Lb Trailer

For a 17,000 lb trailer for which I am assuming is dry weight, I would error on the side of caution and use a 5th wheel hitch rated for at least 20,000 lbs. For a 20,000 lb 5th wheel hitch, I recommend the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16541 for long beds or part # C16140 for short beds.

The Curt 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches are excellent options. They have a pivoting head that makes hooking up the travel on unlevel ground easy. In order to install this hitch on your truck you will also need a set of base rails.
