Cargo Box Recommendation that Allows Rear Hatch of 2017 Subaru Outback to Open

Hi I am looking for a Thule cargo carrier for my 2017 Subaru Outback. I dont want the hatchback to touch the box when it is open. Looking, Vicki for the largest I can get without contact. Thanks

What I need from you is the "front clearance" dimension. This is the distance from the front crossbar of your roof rack back to the rear hatch seam on the vehicle. With that we can pick out the best fitting roof box that will allow you to open the hatch. For a 2011 Outback we know this dimension is 51 inches but we don't have that measurement yet for a 2017.

If your dimension is the same you would want to go with a box like the Thule Force L part # TH6357B which has front clearance of 47-1/2 inches which would easily fit.
