5th Wheel Hitch Installation Options for 2017 Silverado 2500HD
Question:
Hi I am getting a 2017 Silverado 2500HD with the factory prep package. I would like to use a pulltire superglide 2900. Can you tell me what options I have for rails? Thank you

The PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel hitch model 2900 is an 18K-rated auto-sliding hitch that fits into ISRs, or industry standard rails that sit in the short truck bed.
If this is the hitch you want to use you do not need to spend more on the optional factory-installed 5th wheel rail kit in your 2017 Silverado 2500HD. You can use instead a cost-effective aftermarket installation kit that will provide the required base rails.
If you do not yet own the hitch you might consider using one of the models made for the 6-1/2-foot-bed truck with the factory prep. B&W's superb Companion hitch # BWRVK3770 simply drops right into the four factory mounting pucks. This USA-made hitch is among the finest available. You can have a totally clear bed when you need it for cargo by simply removing the entire hitch. This and similar hitch options for the factory prep are shown on a linked page.
If you do want to use the PullRite hitch and need standard above-bed base rails (so that you do not need to spend on the factory prep kit) you can use custom installation kit # C16411-204 from Curt. An install video is included for you. These rails accept any industry-standard hitch, including the model 2900.
