Why Cant the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Bike Rack for Electric Bikes be Used on an RV or Trailer
Question:
Why can this electric bike carrier not be used on an RV or Trailer that has a 2 inch receiver attached to the rear of the unit?

Expert Reply:
Only certain bike racks are tested and rated for use on the back of an RV or trailer. Hollywood Racks has not approved the Sport Rider # HLY84FR for this use which is why it can't be used for that application. At the back of an RV or trailer there is significantly more movement from hitch accessories due to the distance from the rear axle to the hitch receiver and the suspension cannot really compensate for it. A bike rack not built to withstand these extra forces can be damaged.
What I recommend is the Swagman Escapee # S94FR if you need a frame mount rack or the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR because they are RV/trailer approved and are both rated for 60 pounds per bike.
